Trappestien ble gitt som gave til Bergens befolkning ved
Bergens Skog- og Træplantningsselskaps 150-års jubileum i 2018.
Trappene ble bygget av Sherpaer fra Nepal i 2016-2019.
De 1333 trinnene er håndlagt med stein som
ble funnet langs stien opp til Ulriken.
Av kostnaden kr. 15,5 mill. kom kr. 13 mill fra private givere.
Oppstemten ble offisielt åpnet av
Statsminister Erna Solberg, 18. september 2018.
The stone stairway "Oppstemten" was given as a present to the
people of Bergen by Bergens Skog- og Træplantningsselskap
(Bergen Woodlands and Forest Foundation) on their 150th Anniversary in 2018.
The 1333 steps, which were built by Nepalese Sherpas
with rocks found along the old trail up to mount Ulriken,
are largely funded by private donations.
"Oppstemten" was officially opened by the Norwegian
Prime Minister Ema Solberg on the 18th September 2018.
